You Can Glimpse the Future

Fontainebleau-Hotel-Miami

There is no doubt that many aspects of the recruitment industry are changing.

Larger companies are constantly assessing which business they are in and making investment decisions for the future. No two companies are addressing this the same way and only time will tell who got it right and what the attributes for that success were. We wrote about some of the biggest companies here and how they fit into SIA’s Workforce Solutions Ecosystem.

Smaller recruitment agencies are often in a fight for their life – in-house recruitment, restricted tenders, RPO and Managed Services can destroy long-standing client relationships and previously stable revenue streams. Selling services to larger companies is complex and expensive.

Smaller recruitment agencies also have the cost and complexity of staying on top of HR technology and its application for attracting and building candidate access. Social media, technology, specialisation and new competition are constant companions to owners and managers.

If that is not enough the sand is shifting beneath the feet of all business owners. Continued international trade growth, changing scenarios like Brexit, and international expansion as we have seen with the Japanese investment in the recruitment industry in Australia have an impact on strategy, competition and confidence.

And yet every day we see fast growing, profitable, innovative, smart recruitment agencies destroying their competition and becoming the next generation of industry stalwarts. How do they do that?  For one, they did not become above average by being insular

For a number of years HHMC has been attending, and writing about, the Staffing Industry Analysts Executive Forum in North America.  It is simply the best recruitment industry event.  A growing number of international executives attend each year and now is the time to get your attendance plans in place

“Executive Forum North America is the pre-eminent annual meeting for CEOs, owners and senior-level executives from staffing firms across industry sectors.
